Course Overview

This course is taught by Emily Younger, who established Folklore Children Clothing. Emily has lots of experience working with textiles and is our sewing machine expert. Using our sewing machines, you will not only be shown how to do the basics, but you will also progress onto different techniques.

You will learn:
How to thread a machine and how to wind a bobbin.

- How to select the correct tension.
How to solve common problems and work safely.

- How to sew straight seams and finish them.

- Gain knowledge of using different machine feet to create more unusual effects.

Emily will deliver the course through practical demonstrations providing the opportunity to ask questions and take notes.
You will then be observed and supported practising the techniques covered within the session.
There is no formal assessment or qualification linked to this beginners course.

Material and thread will be provided for you to use, a workshop fee payment of 10 pounds is required at enrolment.
